FIRM UPDATES

Megan Got Married!

We're excited to share some happy news from the Craft & Sage Wealth team. Megan recently married her husband, Joe, and has changed her name to Megan Jewett.

You'll begin seeing her new name reflected across our website, email signature, business cards, and other firm materials.

This new chapter is especially meaningful as Megan and Joe begin blending their families. It's also part of what makes her work with clients so personal.

Megan has lived through many of the transitions she helps clients navigate, including divorce, rebuilding, merging families, and planning for what comes next.

That experience brings added empathy and perspective to the work she does every day, especially with our Women & Wealth focus.

FINANCIAL PLANNING TIP

Before You Move Money, Give Us A Call

When a larger expense comes up, it's natural to use whichever account feels most convenient. But pulling money from a taxable account, traditional IRA, Roth IRA, or appreciated investment can create very different tax consequences and may affect other parts of your financial plan.

A quick conversation before moving money can help determine which source makes the most sense and reduce the chance of an unnecessary tax surprise.

It's also a good idea to contact us whenever something meaningful changes, including:

  • A job change, promotion, or retirement decision
  • A major purchase, property sale, or inheritance
  • A marriage, divorce, birth, or death in the family
  • Questions about supporting children or aging parents
  • A large withdrawal, investment sale, or charitable gift

You don't need to wait for your next scheduled review. When life changes or a financial decision feels bigger than usual, reach out and let's talk it through.

New Podcast Coming Soon

We're getting ready to launch a new podcast called Wisdom For What's Next. Each episode will take on the real financial questions that come with life's biggest transitions, including retirement, career changes, growing families, divorce, inheritance, and all the decisions that follow.

The goal is to make those conversations practical, approachable, and genuinely useful.

We're excited to share the first episodes with you soon.

COMMUNITY BUILDING

She Means Business KC

Megan helped co-found She Means Business KC to create more opportunities for women leaders and business owners to build meaningful relationships, support one another, and stay connected across the Kansas City community.

The organization's next event is its annual Women's Networking Palette Party on Thursday, August 13, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at a Kansas City-area art gallery.

The evening will feature:

  • Local women artists and creative showcases
  • Hands-on art sessions
  • Relaxed spaces to connect and recharge
  • An opportunity to meet other women leaders and business owners

The event is free and open to women throughout the community, whether they consider themselves creative or haven't picked up a paintbrush in years.

Megan's work with She Means Business KC reflects the same commitment to supporting women that shapes our Women & Wealth focus at Craft & Sage. Whether someone is building a career, navigating a transition, growing a family, or planning for the future, meaningful relationships and trusted guidance can make a difference.

NICHE FOCUS

From High Income To Lasting Wealth

A strong income creates opportunity, but it can also create financial complexity. Taxes, bonuses, employer benefits, investment decisions, lifestyle spending, family goals, and competing savings priorities can become difficult to coordinate, especially when a demanding career leaves little time for planning.

At Craft & Sage Wealth, we help high-income professionals turn strong earnings into lasting financial progress. That can include:

  • Creating more structure around cash flow
  • Planning more intentionally for taxes
  • Building an investment strategy
  • Reviewing insurance and benefits
  • Making decisions today that create greater flexibility in the future

Early Financial Decisions Compound Over Time

Without a coordinated plan, it's easy for lifestyle expenses to grow faster than wealth or for important decisions to be handled one at a time without considering the bigger picture.

For more information on how we help professionals make the most of their income and opportunities, visit our High-Income Professionals page.

We welcome introductions to adult children and younger family members whose growing careers and financial lives are becoming more complex.

It's part of our multigenerational approach to helping families build, manage, and preserve wealth over time.

Looking for a more thoughtful financial partner?

If your financial life has become more complex, more meaningful, or simply more important to get right, we would be glad to share some resources that can help.
